Technical SEO

We build our sites with on-site Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) in mind and are happy to explain the theory of SEO, which really isn't rocket science.

Too often people end up being blinded by buzzwords and enter poor-quality and expensive SEO contracts they don't understand. There is nothing in SEO that should be confusing to the site owner, who should be able to judge what they are paying for and understand the risks involved in any attempts to manipulate the rankings.

What is technical SEO?

Technical SEO is primarily about making changes to your site's code and helping optimise your site for search engines to read. For example, some sites may look okay to users but be hard for a machine to understand, as parts of the page have not been adequately coded.

If you use services such as Ahrefs or Semrush to help with your SEO, these are the sort of suggestions they make as to how you can improve your site's health score.

Lots of SEOs will only focus on off-site SEO (which is often just placing links to your site from external sites) and ignore potential on-site wins, as they are unable to make code changes. However, as developers who understand SEO, we are able to make any technical changes you may need.

If you are a non-technical SEO, we are happy to work as a silent partner to do any technical work you may need.

Speed improvements

In recent years, Google has focused on getting people to improve their site's loading speed using their tools, such as PageSpeed Insights.

Speed improvements benefit both SEO and usability, since users experiencing a fast-loading site have been shown to be less likely to click away.

We are able to make enhancements to your site's code to improve your speed score.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is software that allows you to see how people are using your site. This can provide very good feedback on what is working or not working. We can set up and show you how to use it.

If there are any specific actions you wish to measure (for example, product sales), then we can configure Analytics to measure this for you.

Google Analytics is a very powerful system, so be cautious of anyone wanting to add additional trackers to your site, as often this is a sign they do not know how to configure it properly, and having too many trackers can slow down a site, as well as increasing your GDPR responsibility.
